It’s All In The Details!~
When it comes to planning a destination wedding, brides must have confidence in their coordinators ability to handle all of the technical and logistical planning. As brides have become more wedding savvy through blogs like Green Wedding Shoes, Ruffled, Pacific Weddings Love Notes and so on, it has challenged coordinators to be stylists as well!
We have always kept a focus on the attention to detail over the years. It’s reflected in every wedding & event that we coordinate and style. It’s fun to challenge ourselves to be at the forefront of the wedding industry trends, as well as, innovators of “never seen before” custom designs (we love a good think tank session!). It’s that extra step that we take to make each bride feel her wedding is right out of a storybook!
Our team is an ensemble of designers that carry the same passion for style and everything fabulous! Attending design Wedding Workshops, Industry Events (The Cream, in L.A) participating in Wedding Design Forums and networking with the top wedding design blogs- we bring that to every planning session! Check out some of our latest weddings & events… it’s all in the details!

Marla & Gary – unlocking the spirit of love
About 7 years ago, when I was just a getting into the wedding business, a wonderful girl named Marla took me under her wing and showed me the ropes of the wedding business on Maui. I have her to thank for the start of my career as a planner and she has taught me so much along the way. Unfortunately for the Maui wedding industry, Marla left the wedding business to open her own amazing boutique called Details.
Marla, gorgeous fashionista extraordinaire, met Gary, a boyishly handsome and humorous, at the roulette table in Las Vegas while Marla was visiting for a retail trade show. Gary was immediately enamored and asked Marla out on a date. The continued to talk over the phone after they returned to their homes. Marla, living on Maui, and Gary was living in Seattle. It took about a year before Gary announced that he was packing his bags and moving to Maui to be with Marla.
Since we as planners, know how important it is not to coordinate your own wedding (too much stress!), I had the pleasure of being Marla’s coordinator and was able to repay her for being such a huge part of my career. The planning process was so much fun, and actually very much stress-fee. Marla is one that knows exactly what she wanted form the very beginning which made the planning seamless.
Marla knew immediately that she wanted to hold the event at Haiku Mill, which is a reconstructed sugar mill. She envisioned a romantic, vintage theme with fall colors, and we decided on a rich chocolate brown, complimented by muted golds and olive greens. Because Haiku Mill is so rich in ambiance, we wanted to compliment the surroundings without going overboard. We complimented the venue and the color scheme with dark burgundy dahlias, ivory hydrangea, and wax flower used in the centerpieces and scattered small bud vases. We mixed in natural dark woods using Manzanita and succulents as well to give it a cooler complimenting tone.
For the décor, we played with strands of crystals underneath the canopy to compliment the existing crystal chandeliers. Place cards were tea stained by the bride herself and attached to an array of vintage skeleton keys. All of the table numbers were hand-painted by a wonderful artist from Etsy: Cheryl from My Primitive Boutique
Guests enjoyed simple, yet refined “pupus” by Maui Executive Catering (that’s Hawaiian for hours d’ vours), of Coconut Shrimp, refreshing Lump Crab & Rock Shrimp Summer Rolls, and Grilled Chicken Skewers with Thai Peanut Sauce. For dinner an incredible buffet of Szechuan Veggies, wok-fired at the buffet, along with Macadamia Nut Encrusted Fresh Mahi Mahi with a Miso Butter Sauce, Hoisin Braised Short Ribs (OMG amazing), with Wasabi Crème Fraiche, accompanied by Asparagus Risotto with White Truffle Oil and Shaved Parmesan Reggiano. Ah-maz-ing!
Congratulations Marla & Gary!!! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of these incredible moments in your lives! Love & Aloha – Jane

Karen & Chase in Paia Maui
What better place to have a wedding than your very own ocean front, family vacation home on Maui? This gorgeous was just the perfect setting for Karen and Chase to exchange their vows and party until the late hours of the night! Their closest friends and family gathered in the back yard of what has got to be one of the most gorgeous views of North Shore Maui nestled right in Paia Bay. Wendy and Tyler of Blue Lily Photography did an amazing job at capturing the magic of the special day and they were so pleasant to work with. When I first met Karen and Chase during the beginning stage of the planning process, I was instantly excited about working with them. They are a fun, down to earth, hip, young and energetic couple of 2 beautiful kids and needless to say, their wedding day was exactly that! They chose a black & white and yellow color pallet which was just perfect for this mid summer affair. Aloha Events Catering executed a delectable meal including one of my all time favorite… butternut squash with sage brown butter sauce… so yummy! Fun cocktails like Lahaina Lemon Drop Martinis and Jalapeno Margaritas were tray-passed to thirsty guests during the cocktail hour while the sun was setting behind the West Maui mountains. So many personal touches were made by the crafty bride herself, from hand drawing floral designs on the bar menu to fabricating custom cocktail umbrellas, no detail was overlooked. The dessert bar was definitely a big hit! Melissa McKelvery, owner of the Paia shop Penguini Gelato made dozens of delicious cupcakes all made from scratch using fresh, local ingredients. She also served fresh gelato and sorbet from behind the dessert bar including a watermelon ginger sorbet that was a perfect cooling treat for the wild dancers who ruled the dance floor! The photo-booth was definitely a scene not to be forgotten; roars of laughter could be heard as guests slipped into Hawaiian print shirts and mu-mu’s, carrying toy ukulele’s and snorkel gear competing for the funniest picture… It was a blast! Thank you Karen and Chase for having Belle be a part of your special day!
